I am just curious whether Bigger Pockets members have been actively pursuing Reno, Nevada, for investment now that Tesla has disclosed they have broke ground near Reno for their planned "gigafactory".  

My advice to people Who are interested in this automation is to get one or two assignment wholesaling deals under your belt or at least five to $10,000 of profitable flips before joining that being said it will give you disposable income to throw in invest into a system in which you can market however if you haven’t made not even one deal at least get one under your belt through you know Facebook channels YouTube craigslist your local tax liens whatever you can do at least get one even if you have to co Wholesale with somebody Truth to the matter is people are in constant search for that get rich quick automation tool where they could have little or no experience and just generate money and that is entirely possible however you need to perfect the craft of marketing or hire somebody who can.

Airdna says that you could be losing out on 20-30% of revenue if you are rating 4.9 or lower on OTA's.I think you have the right idea though, make sure your investment can cash flow as a long term rental so that way you have a good back up plan.

To network and find meet-ups in Northern Austin, consider local real estate investment groups, real estate networking events, conferences and seminars, local real estate agents and brokers, and online forums.

This will be my first step into Real Estate Investing so its really exciting/scary for me so anything helps!

You can certainly raise money but I wouldn't recommend this for out of state investments as your post suggests.

I already have a renter for the investment property home and once ADU complete will rent that ADU.
