In one instance tenants had a double cylinder deadbolt on a back door with windows; they left over a long holiday weekend BUT FORGOT TO LOCK THE DEADBOLT.

@Joshua FallinTenant is still responsible but if it were me and they were a good tenant not sure I would penalize them because of the benefit of being able to sell a house in September vs holiday season.
