From my experience (being on the DNC list and getting dozens of telemarketing calls a week) the main strategy is to ignore it and call everyone anyway. 

Balance what you are learning through KW on how to be an agent and in the real estate class (much better basis for investors in real life than agents) with going to real estate investor meetups in your area.

There is a great group of members on here to connect with.

Ultimately, it depends on your goals and the opportunities available for investing your wealth.
