(He does not have a car and his employer -- a university -- is right up the street.)I am a rookie landlord and never encountered this before.  

No balconies, no grass, not enough off-street parking (though there was enough parking with street parking, as our residents could get resident stickers), no dishwashers, no disposals, no on-site laundry. 

If you haven't encountered it yet, you will.  

But since I have never rented before I have been reading about how to screen tenants and almost everything I have read and encountered suggest not renting to those with evictions.

Has anyone encountered this scenario before? 

Hi All, I searched BP and couldn't find any past threads about this topic so wondering if anyone has encountered my situation! 

The only conclusion I have is, the apartment is a dump and they have a really hard time getting a body to live in it, which equals a lousy landlord and thus the headaches that they encounter, vacancies, calls from tenants complaining, calls from lawyers wanting to sue them etc.  

Do not be surprise if many times you will also simply encounter a typoHave a good laugh and move on.Kind of makes you dream doesn't it?

Many times mistakes turn out to be learning encounters that's beneficial in the long run. 

Have anyone encountered such situation before?
