Research and books are great but doing a deal, the process, and collecting rent is different in every situation.Tenant Screening a 4 bedroom home in Farmington Hills is different than  a small condo in Auburn Hills, and even more different than a duplex in Detroit.Enjoy, this place is a great resource.

Mother nature seems to be helping a little despite our stupidity. http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/01/health/antarctic-ozo...Institutions move at difference speeds....Corporate.............................Education......Legal System......Government...etc.Corporations and the speed of innovation moves much faster than government's ability to regulate, than universities ability to educate, than the legal system's ability to appropriately resolve legal disputes.I think what's needed is...(1) New edutech startups/orgs to be developed to help people get practical education/skills required to meet employers current HR needs.

I know you said you have family in the Charlotte area, but the Raleigh-Durham area is less than 3 hours down the road, state capital (Raleigh) on NC, has 3 major universities to support the burgeoning population (Duke/UNC/NC State), home to the Research Triangle Park and an extensive tech startup ecosystem.
