Willis Seng To Dallas Investors: Rent or Flip?
19 December 2009 | 2 replies
Thats funny Ted, I was thinking the same thing.I think (judging from the topic title) thatr Willis is talking about renting to others as an investment, not deciding between renting or buying.so I was thinking I would be better off renting my first property and taking advantage of the tax credit The only tax credit that could come from renting is renting to others as teh owner and claiming the depreciation deduction. That said, the answer to your question is it depends on yoru goals, availability of time, and your knowledge of both strategies.Having one rental will certainly not make you rich or support you from an income standpoint and neither will one flip, however, getting the first one under your belt is a start in the right direction.
