My point is, don't kid yourself, if you are not going to do anything different, results may not vary.

Also, by "better for the neighborhood" I mean that the past tenants had unruly kids (jumping the fence to swim in the neighbors pool) and left large piles of garbage in front of the house, mattresses chairs etc.I hope this works out for them.

I am a single mother of 2 wonderful kids who I want to spend more time with and the ability to provide them with opportunities to find their dreams.Always been interested in real estate investing and finally working up the courage to go for it despite inexperience and lack of supportive family members.

I feel that 4 or 6 adults with kids is a lot for the home.

Of course the water, gas, and electric will all have to be shut off indefinitely until the remodel is complete.I remember one time when I was a kid, my father became angry with me because I locked my bedroom door.

We've had more damage done by kids than dogs, but they are a protected class.    

Picket fences, 2.4 kids, commissions, fresh cookies for a Sunday open house, that is all that is on their mind. 

I can only see myself slowing down once I have a family and kids... but I don't have that right now, so I can continue to work myself like a maniac, so that when I have kids I don't have to.

Sometimes you can catch a deal that way....an old timer has amassed a bunch of properties, didn't keep up on the maintenance and the widow or kids have no interest in them.
