Since we have no way of knowing what your abilities and talents are, if you are a person that would do well working independently, are aggressive, personable, have the ability to deal with clients, know finance, etc., it would be impossible for us to give you career advice.An education never hurt anyone.

If you get audited and you can prove that you had the intent to hold - but - your intent changed due to economic, business or investment reasons, you may still qualify for a 1031 Exchange.It is not automatically a "flip" just because you had a short-term hold.

@Mitch Bernstein That would be a question for a lawyer, but I would guess that the answer would be yes.The LLC that is GCing the job should be run much like an independent business with it's own checking account, all contracts and invoices with your subs going through that entity, etc.

Spouses are responsible the care of another but not the luxury of another.There are some exceptions to liability from a lawsuit if your husband had an independent form of liability like he let you drive the car knowing you were drunk and you cause an accident, but usually one spouse is not liable for the torts of another.This is very over simplified but I hope it helps.
