We live in 1 unit and rent the other 2 out to offset our mortgage, so a modified house hack situation.

Currently in a cash out refi phase for the down payment (ive been house hacking and ready to grow). 

My original goal was to house hack in my area but after endless searching I could not find a duplex in my area so the decision was to buy a single family home, live in for a year, and then rent it out.

Good evening, I am interested in starting my real estate journey through house hacking.

Any advice would be appreciated as I navigate my first house hack. 

I realize this isn't really a true house hacking situation but to make a long story shorter, my Wife works for a Medical Spa and the owner is now acquiring his first Duplex.

The idea of house-hacking a duplex has always appealed to me; the thought of converting a single-family home into a duplex sounded like a fun challenge.BUT--It turns out, we really like living alone!

I am a recent college grad in Connecticut and planning to invest in my first property to house hack sometime next year.

I will be moving out of my current house hack in a few months, and will be renting my house out fully.
