Jay Hinrichs 60 minutes show on the crisis in america of boarded up homes ruining neighborhoods or is it an investors opportunity
18 December 2014 | 76 replies
One interesting thing about the idea of dropping 10,000 immigrants in Detroit is that it would provide the opportunity for the interaction of different cultures. There are a lot of old mill cities in New England where Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian refugees were resettled after the Balkan mess in the 90's.
Yorel Levy Renting to a Tenant Who Works from Home
16 October 2014 | 4 replies
I don't mind if a tenant works from home as long as that work does not create any strain whatsoever to maintenance of the property, or cause inconvenience, noise, and liability to anyone else. For example, buying and selling stuff, requiring UPS or FedEx multiple times a day for pick up, drop off, sometimes many packages on doorsteps; running a misery, conducting a yoga class, hair and nail, pet grooming, are all going to have frequent visitors that may park in neighbor's parking spaces, and you might be liable if a dog being groomed in unit C bit a baby being dropped off for baby sitting in unit B.

Jeremy Pace Ancient Boiler Issues
27 April 2015 | 21 replies
The draft hood is open on it's underside so that any negative pressure, beyond the minimum required by the boiler, sucks in only room temperature air - rather than sevevel-hundred-degree flue gas, which you have paid to heat.A barometric damper on an oil fired unit accomplishes the same task but a Draft Hood has no moving parts.

Brandon Hall Canadian Investor, looking into USA market
18 December 2014 | 16 replies
As one VP told me they want to be able to drop by and see the investor if there is an issue versus being out of the country and there is a disconnect to resolve things immediately. Some local banks will offer a "foreign national" program but want as much as 40 to 50% down which after your foreign currency exchange kills cash on cash returns.
