By the time somebody detected the problem the water pipes had burst, ceilings had dropped and lots of damage to the house and furniture, to the tune of $46,000.We had an incident where the gas company turned the gas off, by mistake, wrong address, in a vacant house and we had over $50,000 in damage.

I'm sure they can still survive by using the stove top, microwave, sandwiches, crock pot, pressure cooker, or whatever.If it's going to be a long time, you can try contacting a furniture rental store to rent an oven.

I appreciate your input Brandon, but it appears that d(1) contradicts your first point:"Except as provided in § 1.162-3 (relating to materials and supplies) and in § 1.263(a)-1(f) (providing a de minimis safe harbor election), a taxpayer must capitalize amounts paid to acquire or produce a unit of real or personal property (as determined under § 1.263(a)-3(e)), including leasehold improvements, land and land improvements, buildings, machinery and equipment, and furniture and fixtures."

Now I can see them, less cigarette smoke comes on my side, I can’t really hear them anymore and they really don’t hang out outside as much anymore because they were outdoor living to harass.
