The Fair Housing Act states that you cannot refuse to rent to someone (deny them housing) or otherwise treat them differently based on their race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. 

I love the exterior colors.

If I was buying the house for myself and I knew that $50k would make my house at least as valuable as the renovated home up the street, then I would buy the slightly cheaper house and spend the money in a way that gave me exactly what I wanted in terms of colors, shapes, functionality, etc.My house has to be suitable for me and my family.
