Also, when in the planning stages, you might put in applications with the state and local governments for a Tax abatement for a scheduled period of time.This tax abatement would make the development more marketable when/if you decide to get out.

I see that all the time even with my tenants, when they're on one of the government programs that pays most of their rent!

I have a nice steady career with the federal government so I am not worried about being laid off at all ever.
