What if a major employer in the Portland area shut down causing a regional issue?

Therefore since my early years I didn’t see much chance of being self employed successfully.

Curious what are the legal requirements to be considered "self-employed" if we wanted to pursue the Solo 401k for a Real Estate investment.Thanks in advance!

I have been employing the tactic of using the listing agent for the offers I've made thus far (for the reasons of double commission), but I would probably be better suited to use an agent myself to ask these questions and ensure I'm protected.

When I’m studying a new market for my company, I’ll spend hours driving streets taking notes of what I’m seeing:- Where are the demand drivers (employers, large retail power centers/shopping)- What is the development pipeline in the area?  

From what I understood, you could transfer a TSP and 401K from previous employers.

Yeah, I'm going with the other applicant that has proven long term stable employment history, much more education to make it easier to find a replacement job, and all of who are high income and have seen the property, despite them not being the first qualified applicant. 

And you get tagged hard with taxes including probably self employment as well as ordinary income.
