i handle multiple projects with many contractors working together.first i recognize that scheduling is very challenging for contractors given that they need to stay busy on a whole set of projects which proceed with pace and timing that they don't control.

Any amount paid under the $150K for the replacement house is taxable, as your will be forced to recognize the tax gain to the extent that your receive consideration (cash or debt reduction).

You're going to be airbnbing to startup employees who are in town for a brief time to meet with the team, or people being flown in for interviews in this case, probably not too many vacationers (though that's just a guess on my part, I don't have direct experience with it).With a little bit of luck you can get a 3-4 bed in west oakland for ~400-600k, which should cashflow at those numbers easily.
