Duplex can mean more square footage than a SFH, so make sure to factor that in to rehab estimates (flooring costs, paint, etc).Make sure the current zoning permits multifamily units and some regulation change in the past doesn't preclude you turning it back into a duplex.Figure out with a contractor exactly what you need to do to turn it into a functional duplex - adding walls, closing off doors, adding external entrances, etc.
