I’ve been thinking of doing that with my commuter car (Corolla).

Tire of commuting and paying high gas price.

I understand that in terms of strictly in the investor eyes, this property isn't a great deal, but it makes it reasonable since I can live there and my commute to work would shorten a bit as well. 

I have been listening to a couple of the bigger pockets podcasts on my commute to and from work every day and I plan to purchase a couple of the books here soon to help advance my knowledge base.

I no longer have to commute during rush hour.I have the freedom to spend lots of time with my wife and child/children.

Plan A is to rent out both units and find another value add house hack with a reasonable commute.

Neighborhood is on outer fringe of seattle so not walkable to any amenities,  but still good commute options to lots of places.One thing to consider though-  Seattle has very punitive/strict tenant protection laws -  and given our recent city council elections which appear to have moved the council FARTHER left (if that was even possible...) 

We are looking at any neighborhoods that provided easy commute to South Kenmore and seattle.

I am loving the podcasts so far on my daily commute. 

And if you have a 2hr one-way commute like I do...you can listen to a lot of them.
