Being on the investor side of syndication would be a great way to start for anyone who lives in a hot market and can't exactly pick up and move to start full time in RE, heck just reading an executive summery that was put together by a half way decent RE syndicator is excellent education in and of itself!

I would guess if you do all that, you will graduate with a BBA in accounting and a pretty good real estate education and background and be ready to try an investment...Best of luck.

At least you are getting  a good education right now on the subject matter, but I would suggest that you spend a lot of time learning your rights and responsibilities so that in the future, you can deal with tenants with a lot more knowledge and confidence - a tenant tried to quote some obscure ruling to me once and I recited the corrected language of the law because I knew it and she could not say anything after that because she was just trying to be a sofa lawyer - trying to quote some **** heard on Judge Judy or something.

BP is a great resource, go to the education section and learn as much as you can.Also, try to attend local real estate investment clubs and real estate related meet ups and start networking.
