People who live in expensive areas often buy rentals in less expensive areas simply because the numbers don't work where they live.

.- not buy in a seasonal market, or if i do, ONLY expect to generate $$ in the peak season when i run my numbers- buy something with very low overhead (not an expensive SFH)- make sure it cashflows as a LTR (have a backup plan)- do a more creative stay (glamping, redone vintage camper, etc)

That seems a gross oversimplification that can result in bad returns.I've personally invested in some low cost markets that gave me great cash flow and above average appreciation.

From there, I'd like to expand in the STR market but as I learn, I'm open to other options.I love the Boston area but it's so expensive here and I don't know how to make that profitable.
