I've gone to many meetup groups for the past 50+ years and the only thing I see at the new and unprofessional meetups is, "The Blind Leading The Blind" and a lot of b.s..When I go to the more-established REI clubs they are always bring in Snake Oil Salesmen who are hawking their crap for around $1,000 and the president of these clubs should be fired for advocating these Snake Oils Salesmen.

If I were you, i'd get a second opinion and have a plumber snake out the main line then scope it with a camera to confirm whether or not you have a bigger problem.
