The cabinets are in good condition but I’d like to change the color to give the kitchen a facelift & get a little bit more income from the unit (along with replacing floors & painting) What is the best way to refinish the cabinets while ensuring they’ll still be durable for renters?

Refinished Hardwoods.

I personally didn't think it was in bad shape, but I refinished it and left her a nice note with a bottle of wine and some bath soaps.

I am not going to remodel a kitchen or bath because they ask or refinish hardwood floors to be a nice guy but if something reasonable is requested, I want it done quickly and professionally. 

My younger self would be proud, I've done both now and my goal is to do both of those more often. 4 years of machining and welding in high school, and since I've gotten out, I've done minor renovations at home; repaired a lot of issues and refinished a basement including a brand new bathroom.

Its a foundation so unfortunately I can't do refinish the hardwoods (my preference).  

Nice refinished hard woods and fireplace, a built in bar.

Mostly wood floors throughout that need refinishing.

I had a bathroom with really ugly tile all around the room, so I had a tub refinishing company (Miracle Method?)

I did a $5000 rehab on a place and that was for almost everything -- new kitchen cabinets, new flooring in all the rooms, refinishing HW floors, adding a wall, painting, electrical fixes, drywall fixes, plumbing fixes, new locks, new outlets, mini-blinds, curtains, and cleaning.
