And the truth is, if the investment property was completely passive and you had zero connection with it, such as an arbitrary stock in a mutual fund, then I would agree not to get emotionally attached to any one investment.

As it stands, I live in the master bedroom, I have had 1 long term tenant that has been with me since the purchase and the other 2 rooms have been listed on airbnb and have found some temporary tenants through mutual friends.

@Adam Newman you will want to confirm this with the bank but you can’t take a loan out to borrow for part of the down payment so you’ll need to provide all the funds yourself or have a gift from someone for that which you don’t have.If you have a gift from someone to bridge the 20%, that would be ideal.
