If you do it right, and build a good reputation among the buy/hold and flip investors you'll do fine.

I deal in the Dallas area only and need someone in Fort Worth that is reputable and does good work.

Chicago can be block by block, so don't assume that a whole area is good (or bad) based on reputation alone.

Again, review fee schedules carefully – there may be separate charges for whatever 3rd party custodian and/or administrator they are using.So when you’re looking for someone who offers a self-directed IRA, make sure you know the type of company you’re dealing with and what their reputation and regulatory history is.

In my area, CL is the last place to find anybody that is even halfway reputable.

Word of mouth, reputation, and recommendations are always the most important thing.
