It could be money in your 401k or TSP that you could borrow from, if the need were to arise.So, either Navy Federal has their own overlays (although people from the East Coast seem to use Navy Fed to finance multis) or the loan officer you're talking to doesn't know what they're talking about, which is pretty weird, considering they only serve military people.
