I use Dropbox for electronic storage which comes with a scanner in the phone app, so I can scan immediately on the go and then ditch the paper.

Once the rehab is done, I have all the receipts entered into quickbooks by my CPA's assistant and then I have an electronic means to see the profitablity of each project as each one is assigned a class in quickbooks.It has been suggested to me by others to also keep a log/talley of every expense by simply writing each item down in a log book so at any given time, I can see how much has been spent on each project.

I agree with @Mehran Kamari , with electronic communication, there is virtually no reason your accountant has to be in your location.

After that I slammed every nickel I could get my hands on toward paying of my mortgages, STARTING WITH THE LOWEST BALANCE, not necessarily the highest interest rate.I also did without things that a lot of people thought were absolutely NECESSARY; things like new cars, cable TV, the latest and greatest electronic thingies like big screens, walkmans, funny ringtones on my cell phone (I didn't have a cell phone until '95) and crap like that.
