And, they are in a rental market where they don't have to rent to Section 8 tenants, if they don't want to.Now, if I was to buy with the intent to rent to Section 8 tenants, I'd buy a building with lots of little studios, and turn the place into a 55+ or better yet, a 62+ low income senior building.

Depending on the time you can dedicate to this studio you can probably earn more than rent offering it on airbnb.If you don't have the time for and airbnb option, post your craigslist ad and direct them to an online website form.

The problem with driving, is parking on campus or even close to campus, is a hassle or really expensive.I'd avoid condos if possible, because of the HOAs.I rented out really small studios.

@Mike Lalor If you can get 1st year law students to rent from you, my experience was that they would often stay for their entire 3 years, and sometimes longer than that, if they were going to take the CA Bar exam.I rented mostly really small studios and my goal was to keep each tenant at least one year.
