They've owned it since 2001 and don't seem to have kept up with market rental rates.My current rent is 1100, so moving into one of the 1000 dollar units would only increase my monthly expenses by $30 because of the negative cashflow.

I don't see any negative here to moving your business account(s).

The likely hood is that contrary to cash flowing $800/month on your present investment you are likely negative cash flow after paying a return on the opportunity value of your equity.

Wouldn't I be in the negative for a while cause I can't rent out 2 units only 1?

Now, that's not to say that you won't get any calls from the first few touches, but statistically speaking it is later touches that you will get more calls. 

They are deductible in 2017, the year in which your business actually started operating.Can you imagine the negative impact of setting up shell companies with no intention of actually ever doing business but still being able to write off business expenses?
