The long term goal is to get into the multifamily space and have that be my primary gig, but I'm cautious about moving forward too quickly and losing  the house I'm in now. 

Treat this like a business or get out while you can before you lose more money.  

While they have a much lower barrier to entry (thus you may have less to lose), there is a much higher risk the property would need significant work and if you were to take it back you may end up with an asset that has no value.

The only assumptions I'll change for this one is doubling the rent.Still losing $27.35 a month.

It's rarely a losing point for a politician to speak to voters (the predominance of whom are not landlords) and say that landlords are causing the trouble.
