FHA will let you buy another property and rent out the current one you're living in - if - you have to move far enough away that the commute to the job from your current house is too far to be reasonable.Example: My daughter bought a home in Salinas, CA, near Monterey where she was working, with an FHA owner-occupied mortgage.

@Maurice Graham , I believe that it will effect Gwinnett county, because many Gwinnett residents use 85 daily to commute to their work intown or below.

I’ve seen some decent multi family homes in the la Loma/ downtown area (1min commute ) that u could handle the payment if your renters stopped paying.

But, you should qualify for one or more of these types of programs, from what I understand.My daughter bought her first home during the crash, after around 3 years she got a job in a different area of CA, which would have been a commute of around 2 hours or so.
