Hi Keishee,You should be able to purchase a 20-min fire-rated door from Lowes or Home Depot for ~$250 + $50 for hardware...so $300 per door.  2 doors x $300 each = $600 total in materialshttp://www.homedepot.com/s/prehung%2520fire%2520ra...That leaves $1,300 for labor & markup which seems excessive.I would clarify with your contractor the type of door/sku # that he is planning on installing to get a better idea of material costs and labor costs included in the proposal.

And stay at home for those three weeks meant stay at Home Depot.
