I wonder if, at the very least, it would help me with networking and learning the workings of my area ... which otherwise might be more difficult for me to accomplish and understand on my own?

If you don't have the money for that, how are you going to accomplish anything else?

The only thing that would negate that problem would be the thought of us moving elsewhere before it becomes an issue for our kids, which we're hoping to accomplish. 

Is it better to hire a Real Estate Lawyer or title company to accomplish that service?

As an investor I'm trying to accomplish two things 1) It makes it easier to assign costs to the appropriate property at the end of the month 2) Keep an inventory of what I've purchased.

As someone that sold commercial phone systems in a prior life, I can assure you that your question is way to vague.How many lines, what capabilities, virtual systems vs traditional switch systems....used to be pbx's....cell based....BUDGET.I don't have a clue what you want to accomplish with this phone system.

Just understand, nothing in real estate is simple or accomplished step by step. :)
