Just make sure you research all the intricacies of MFH at the state and local levels.Zoning, I quite often come across MFH's that were converted from SFH to MFH by the owner without permits and zoning.

Any new building permits or zoning changes applied for now or in the future where new product will be competing with your rehabbed project??

I should add that we did a complete rehab as well (new kitchen/granite, bathrooms, windows, rebuilt walls and reconfigured layout on 2nd floor w/ all permits pulled).

Typically, they would have to pay fair market price, which could be established throough an appraisal or whatever method the law permits.

Any homeowner can add on to their house and many do so without obtaining a permit.

When I live (Atlanta), you wouldn't be allowed to complete most of that work without permits, and you'd need a GC to pull the permits anyway (you wouldn't be able to do it yourself).
