I don't see them not pushing back on getting rid of the chickens/ducks (which I never authorized), or not complaining about a variety of other things that are of no concern to them and will start "finding problems" as dramatic tenants do and cause more headaches.

Typically, you have to find out who's name the mortgage is in (presumably the current owner) and have them sign an authorization to release information.
