It's one thing to have some temporary set backs in life but ten years seems like bad habits to me.

I feel like I was on a roller coaster of emotions while reading that feed!

Getting emotionally attached is not a good investment strategy.

I could have someone re-paint but it will be costly and more of a temporary solution since it will likely chip again.  

Once I gathered my emotions into a little ball.

Investors need to take out affinity for an area and emotion because it's where they live now or where they came from etc.When people get nostalgic and look away from the data with blinders on that is when you can get into trouble.I am sure some investors 5 years from now will say they did great there etc.  

Let the numbers do the talking on whether you invest in a deal or not, not the emotions of whether you would want to live there yourself.
