I've seen fake alarm systems which basically are stickers, SIGNS "(This Property is Under Video Surveillance" etc), and even flashing red lights that are battery powered-battery powered alarms - they have these at harbor freight, you can put on windows and doors- they're powered by magnets --Does anyone have recommendations for better battery powered or simple DIY alarm systems?

RED ALERT on some of these issues as there may be specific rules about access (the deck and parking), use of common areas, and handling tenant's property is always risky as is changing any locks.

I remember coming from one of my apt buildings once in Columbus Ohio had like 5k or so in pocket and I was walking back to my car and saw a group of dudes not that far away eyeing my up like I was fresh meat.
