So, the owner sold the property to me at a discount.

That's the way you have to sell it to the Broker, is that it's going to bring in additional revenue and lead sources.

One benefit to buying now would be that we'd rent out additional bedroom to current roommate - so we wouldn't be paying more in rent than we are now.
