Realistically we don't mind stretching ourselves a little thin for these couple of months while I fix the house, and hopefully make some sweat equity, then once my work authorization comes through and I'm able to start working we could at least double our household income.Any ideas/recommendations welcome, thanks guys.

Without getting too into the weeds, my schedule C has been just barely into the negative the last three years, mainly because I put in a majority sweat equity instead of paying myself.

So are you saying if I had taken out a loan to build this project and then it went into a regular commercial loan a could write interest off but because I put in capital, blood sweat and tears and paid outta pocket and then went for loan I could not write off interest paid?

I manage ordering, delivery and pickup of dumpsters and (if needed) a porta potti.I select, purchase and deliver light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, vanities, toilets and other small hardware.I'm the gofer if one of the crew needs a part, tool, or box of screws from the local hardware store.I'm a real estate broker and that's where my real sweat equity fits in.
