Vince Le Is it ok when MLO directly process loan with lenders?

Some larger broker outlets will give the option to have the loan processed and underwritten with them but this isn't the norm (UWM comes to mind as a big lender who now gives the broker this option of taking care of all of the processing or certain aspects of the processing which they call "processor assist" - this is fairly unique as far as I'm aware however).There are so many little variables to every situation but generally speaking, if an MLO is skipping over the spot where his/her license hangs and taking a deal somewhere direct, there wouldn't be a compliant way to pay the MLO.

You raise some great points - considering I've barely just begun my investing career, I should really just focus on finding deals within my own province (if not my hometown) instead of crossing the border to find properties and deal with even more unknowns and variables

I talked to a commercial appraiser and he said that even if the bank would lend on an MTR commercial property, they'd likely give it a higher cap rate because of the lack of knowledge and the space and more variables. $300/month is not worth it if you hate it.
