So, the way to be more like them and obtain tax code benefits is to use the tax code the way it was intended.Also, if you're using LLCs outside of a business entity structure, you're doing it wrong and you will leave yourself open to being considered as having disregarded "the corporate veil" which will leave you open to attack from shysters and thieves ... er, prosecuting attorneys and plaintiffs.Your tax accountant and tax attorney can provide guidance on this, @Ralph E.

The thieves have just found a new target

Be a magnet for all of the burglars, rapists, thieves, drug dealers and bad guys so the rest of us no longer have to worry about them.

There is just so much money to be made in the business that it is BOUND to attract the criminals and the thieves.

Car theft is now considered a civil matter and a police report isn't even taken, and as you mentioned, thieves can openly walk out the door of stores with shopping carts filled with goods up to $950 and they're not even arrested.  

@Frank Chin This tenant has a problem with security (because he has installed cameras inside and out) so I understand what you pointed out, it could be a pervert or thieve if not bonded and insured -- that gives a bit of security.

Since the alarm hardware was also in the house during the latest burglary, the thieves helped themselves to at least one major component of it.
