Hello, I am a 21 year old embarking on my journey into real estate, specifically focusing on multi-family properties.

Being a NYC resident (originally from Long Island), the price of entry in the area is on the higher end, so I've been considering some options in the NY Capitol region, as well as NJ and CT.

If you plan to invest in multiple states or require advanced asset protection, consult a CPA or attorney to explore options like a holding company structure.

I think if you can nail that down you will be able to find a market easier.As a buy and hold investor some of the things that were important to me when deciding on a market were landlord tenant laws, price to rent ratio, housing demand, ability to build a team, large population 500K plus, multi-family availability and some other factors.take the process step by step and you will be fine.

I think the economy has a number of diverse employment options, lower prices than King County while still being within driving distance.  

Negotiating a lower price to account for these issues could be an option, but if they’re not flexible, it may be best to explore other opportunities.Happy to connect if you’d like to discuss further!
