Small cracks in the masonry happens everywhere and usually isn't a big problem unless the gaps get big.However you have some pictures here where the brick is split.

A brick home may have a higher cost of construction but some companies also give you a big discount for an all masonry home.Some of the 1900 to 1930 houses have a construction type that is open inside the walls from ground floor to the attic - a fire that breaches the wall will shoot straight to the attic and efficiently burn the house down.

Its a building from the 1850s, and it looks like it will require all new siding, major masonry work and support beam replacement in the basement.

The oldest building in the neighborhood was built in 1814, so it's possible, but I don't have any evidence that it was built before the 1870s.This has been mentioned a couple times:  in older parts of Cincy I look for masonry construction (stone/brick) because those structures are more solid even than the wood frame homes being built today.

The good news is I found a great masonry contractor who was awesome to work with, funny enough I found him through the code enforcement officer.
