I have a property in FL and just about every house on the street used to have a garage/carport that's been converted to indoor space.

Knowing this, if you have damp carpet and close up the house during the summer with the indoor temperature of the house reaching the mid 80s, it will absolutely create a bad environment for the damp carpet.  

The tenant should simply stay indoors.
