Other things you can use to demonstrate your intent would be your normal practice, rental agreements or rental listings, written correspondence with your professionals etc.You've got a pretty healthy gain to shelter for sure.

I've seen too many people who appear healthy, working their tails off and then they deteriorate way too young and never get to even enjoy "retirement age" (regardless of whether they actually retire or not).Based on what I've read here (on BP forums) and after speaking to family/friends we decided to grow our investment portfolio further.

But if the market smiles on you .. then when you sell you can reap the rewards.but do remember unless your going to 1031 and keep rolling up you wont really see that cash.. and if you want the cash then you will just give back your tax benefits in the form of recapture.. but you will always have the debt pay down from your lease tenants.. .. and in the old days if you could get a tenant to pay off your house.. then that was OK and I still think that is OK in strong markets..

and build cost went up though as well. but still we are for this short window in time reaping the benefit of the market smiling on us.. as we also got the short end of the stick when the market ravaged our equities in 08 to 2011..
