Jason,The first rule of thumb is never put all of your eggs in the same basket. 

Hotel stays, Airline points, timeshare weeks, wine baskets, gift baskets, flowers, etc.  

The later choice takes times and rarely bears fruit in our experience. 

We learned very quickly that we needed to grow a network of contractors and not put all of our eggs in one basket.

You know what they say—don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
