I've been reading about the different types - linear, cyclical, and hybrid - and I wanted to ask -- am I correct in "diagnosing" the VA Beach market as one that is linear? 

Example: Inspector says the HVAC is near end of life, hire an HVAC specialist to come in and diagnose.

Fixing it depends on what it is and this is something I'd get diagnosed by more than an inspector.

In theory they work but you should always fix a leak properly at the source. for instance I would never fix a customers car with stop leak because the radiator might get plugged up with that crap or in some cases it might cause issues elsewear. so I would diagnose where the leak is coming from and iether mechanically force the debrie out or I would locate and repair the section needing replacement to ensure it's done right. this is a little off topic but just my thoughts.
