It is certainly an economically depressing area and is high crime.

It ended up being a very profitable investment, but I bought it is 2010 when the market was really depressed out there.  

With luck it will further depress the real estate market which will be a major plus for those long term investors looking to buy.

So, are you going to just target one house Deal at a time or try to find a depressed area to farm?

They all hate hotels and motels because they are depressing.

Stress causes physical problems such as depressed immune systems that can make one vulnerable to infections, flu, and even cancer.

I can't speak to costs in Houston vs Ohio, but I am in an economically depressed rust-belt region, so I would think Houston prices would be higher.

The irony to me, is that lower priced areas are have consistent demand and the upper end off shore markets are still depressed.

It's amazing that people take their aggressions out on their homes...My generation was raised by depression era parents who really valued having a home more than anything,  and paying it off asap.  

I have no real knowledge but I would be surprised if the Lansing area is still depressed given it is a big college town.I've not heard of anyone that had the banks actually go after them for the deficiency.
