When we redid our kitchen in our residence (before I started in this business) I think we spent something like $12,000 on the countertops.

@Robert Brown personally I'd avoid Sosua, as it's a destination for sex tourism.There is also Santo Domingo, which attracts business travellers as well and the nearby beach city of Juan Dolio.

@Sam SchlosserWhen considering a real estate deal - throw the word “friend” out, you should not have friends who are business partners.

I would like to start investing soon, but my full time is brokering for Hard/Private money loans.

Which will bring plenty of other investors and general business to the area.

I'm a local chicago mortgage lender but we are licensed and do a ton of business in CA as well - happy to be a resource in any way I can!

I have been active on this platform for quite some time now and I am so grateful for the business relationships I have created.

ADU was the biggest hype last decade and a huge disappointment for many, especially in CA. 1- big pain in the a$$ to get approved and then built. 2- super expensive in CA.3- often it reduces the value of the main home on resale, because most people want a normal private home and not some white elephant with a weird back cottage or no garage due to ADU.  

Also, a buyer’s agent can assure a busy listing agent that you’re qualified and explain some of your situation.
