So I found this great HUD Owned large 3 story Victorian Col on corner double lot, one block from waterfront n view from 3rd floor with open and enclosed porches,  in the best part of town I grew up.

Hello BP Members,While I am sure many of us can go into great detail on our back story that led us to the world of Real Estate Investing, I don’t really want to type out a memoir at the moment.

Anyway, back to my story, I emailed the salesman a set of 3 simple questions which he did initially reply to right away.

So heres my short story: In mid Nov. the city came around and did an inspection on one of my properties.

While it may be true that schools aren't very good in that district, when compared with a GoodSchools.com rating in the rest of Richmond city (surrounding counties are a different story) there isn't much of a statistical difference in quality anywhere inside the city limits which levels the playing field a bit.So that brings it down to whether a potential investor is comfortable landlording in Barton Heights.

Long story short we have stayed pretty close since then and in a sense they have been mentors to me, great people.
