Your landlord may be different, but I have zero tolerance for headaches caused by my tenants - if you make this your landlord's problem, I wouldn't expect you'd be welcome to stay.And, if you do need to make it your landlord's problem, find ways to align yourself with them and offer solutions - no one should be more motivated to make sure things are stable than your landlord.Good luck!

The reason I ask, is if the short term executive or AirBNB avenue doesn't operate somewhat in alignment with my expectations, I will just rent it out on a one year lease.I would love to hear from some Rochester based people on this as well, because our city is very conservative and slow to catch onto stuff that trends in other cities.

The one thing I would add is that while you are researching the asset class, be certain that you get the proper education and align yourself with individuals that are SUCCESSFUL in the Self Storage Business, and discard the advice from others who do not have experience in this incredible sector of Commercial Real Estate.
