If my landlord couldn't / wouldn't fix it in those time frames, I would be fighting mad at my landlord. 

The listing would still be out there for days after an approved applicant with all the good discussion/move-in dates/etc and I thought that maybe they were busy and just hadn't gotten to take it down and now I see the method to the madness.
